ENERGY AUDIT

Electrical, Thermal, HVAC, Compressor

Why Energy Audit is required ?

Energy Audit means systematic approach for decision making in the area of energy management.  It is required for –

  1. For reducing the Energy Cost component in the Final Finished good product.
  2. Statutory compliance for the Designated Industries.

Steps for the ENERGY MANAGEMENT –

  1. Commit to Energy Conservation
  2. Conduct Energy Audit
  3. Implement the suggestions and continuously monitor the same.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUDIT –

Why Electrical Safety Audits (ESA)?

Identifying potential electrical hazards to prevent or minimize loss of life and property is perceived seriously by many industries the world over.General safety auditing is popular where the objectives & concepts are clear, whereas ESA is a specialized area that is still in the process of being understood  by many. In factories, around 8% of all fatalities are due to accidents caused by electricity.

ESA Programme can be broadly classified into 3 major areas namely:

1. Pre-Audit

2. Audit

3. Post-Audit

Electrical Safety Audit

ESA is a systematic independent review to verify conformance with established Guidelines (CEA Regulations) or Standards (NFPA 70)  to IDENTIFY, ASSESS & CONTROL Electrical Risks.

ESA is carried out by way of Physical Examination, Sample Tests, Review of Records and Discussion with Various Departments & Plant Personnel.

ARC Flash Study ( ARC Flash Hazard Analysis ) – (NFPA 70E)

ARC Flash occurs when electricity suddenly arcs through the air between two conductors. It is work place hazard & can lead to injury or death.

OSHA regulates arc flash with the help of NFPA standards. NFPA 70E standard gives guidelines for Arc Flash Hazard Analysis. We do study as per this standard.

FIRE AUDIT as per NBC NORMS –

We conduct THIRD PARTY FIRE AUDIT and check the system provided by contractor and suggest you necessary improvements.

It is observed that in many cases the safety NORMS are compromised by the contractors and in the event of emergency these violations become traps.

Steps in Fire Audit –

  1. Desk Top Review
  2. On site Assessment
  3. Report Submission
  4. Follow up visit
